In Phuket there are two distinct scenes for gay people, with very little overlap. The most well known is Soi Paradise in Patong. The businesses are primarily owned, financed or managed by expats, in accordance with Thai law. It is the Soi Paradise scene that is promoted most and the prime destination for gay travellers. Later I will explore the Soi Paradise complex with you.
There is another scene outisde of Patong. These tend to be Thai owned and patronized establishments. They may be mixed venues and quite fun. At the sites outside of Patong the majority of the patrons will be local Thai.
